My love for dogs started early — literally in the crib. Our family’s oldest dog, Sow Belly, took it upon herself to watch over me. She was one of seven dogs I grew up with, each one shaping my bond with animals. It wasn’t official training, but they all listened — and if I wasn’t around, they made sure everyone knew it. That early connection set the tone for everything that followed.
As a kid and into my teens, I spent time at the kennel where my grandfather got his basset hounds. That’s where I really started learning how to handle dogs — especially hunting breeds like hounds and GSPs. I also tagged along on hunting trips, gaining hands-on experience and seeing purpose-driven behavior in action.
While contracted by the military, I worked with a whole new kind of working dog — an experience that led me to Hawaii. There, I raised and sold my first protection dog, which sparked a deeper interest in behavior and training. I dove into learning theory and read don’t shoot the dog by Karen Pryor, graduated from a well known clicker academy, and got my first pro training job at Petco, eventually becoming a regional trainer. I later attended Starmark Academy and completed the NePoPo® Silver program to further sharpen my skills.
Since then, I’ve trained protection dogs at Ruidoso Malinois, graduated from the Deadpool Decoy School, and earned certifications as an AKC evaluator and member of the IACP. I’ve built a reputation as the trainer people call when nothing else has worked — even other trainers have booked sessions with me. But titles aside, what matters most is helping you and your dog find real results.
Great training should be fun, fair, and effective. It’s not just about obedience — it’s about understanding. And when it’s done right, it speaks for itself. My mission is simple: help dogs and their people live better lives together.
Every dog has a story — and we honor that. We lead with patience and kindness, creating a safe environment where dogs can learn, grow, and feel understood. Compassion isn’t just how we train; it’s who we are.
Dogs thrive on clarity. We teach owners how to communicate with calm confidence, using body language, tone, and consistency to strengthen the bond. Our goal is to eliminate confusion so your dog always knows what’s expected.
Training takes time, but every moment counts. We follow proven, step-by-step methods that build lasting habits, not quick fixes. The results come when you trust the work and stay consistent.
We don’t train in bubbles — we prepare your dog for the real world. From walks in the park to guests at the door, our training translates to everyday moments so you can live with more peace and confidence.
Training isn’t a solo journey. We work with both dogs and their humans, creating a team mentality built on trust, leadership, and mutual respect.
